Guwahati: The state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has extended heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for highlighting the ecological importance of Kaziranga National Park during the 124th edition of his monthly radio programme, Mann Ki Baat. The party hailed the Prime Minister’s remarks as a proud moment for Assam and a major boost to conservation efforts in the region.

During the broadcast, PM Modi commended the use of artificial intelligence in conducting the first-ever Grassland Bird Census in Kaziranga—a move widely appreciated by environmentalists and conservationists alike. The Prime Minister’s emphasis on the park’s biodiversity has brought national focus to Assam’s unique ecological heritage.

According to BJP Assam, more than 25,000 booths across the state, spanning 433 Mandals and 39 organizational districts, actively tuned in to the programme. The event witnessed participation from lakhs of BJP workers (karyakartas) and enthusiastic local residents.

In a statement, the party said that Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, State BJP president Dilip Saikia, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, state ministers, MPs, MLAs, and district-level leaders listened to the programme from their designated booths.

State president Dilip Saikia was present at Booth No. 154 under Palasbari Gramya Mandal in South Kamrup’s Palasbari Assembly constituency, where he joined local citizens to hear the broadcast.

The BJP also reported an overwhelming response from the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), where all booths across five organizational districts recorded gatherings of at least 200 people. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal joined the programme from his residence in Guwahati, accompanied by community members and BJP workers.
