PALASBARI: A special felicitation programme was held on Sunday at the Jamartal playground in Mirza by Sammilit Janakalyan Mancha, a local non-governmental organization, to honour students who passed the HSLC and Higher Secondary exams with first division from the greater Palasbari area in Kamrup district.
Attending the programme as chief guest, senior journalist Zarir Hussain addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to aim high with determination and self-belief. “Today’s students are lucky to have access to the world through mobile phones. Nothing is impossible with the right mindset,” he said.
Sammilit Janakalyan Mancha president Monimoy Kar presided over the programme. Chief Advisor and state invitee member of BJP Himangshu Shekhar Baishya, in his welcome address, said, “We may not offer much, but we can give motivation. Students must have a clear goal and work towards it with dedication.” He also emphasized the importance of contributing to society and preserving local culture and values.
A total of 1309 students from 49 schools and 11 colleges, including CBSE institutions, were honoured with gift books, appreciation certificates, and gamosas.
