Assam's Dr Dibyajyoti Saikia honoured with Banga Gaurav Samman

Dr Dibyajyoti Saikia was honoured with the Banga Gaurav Samman organized by the World Book of Star Records and the Alternative Medicine Development Institute of India in Kolkata on Sunday in an award function.

 GUWAHATI: Dr Dibyajyoti Saikia was honoured with the Banga Gaurav Samman organized by the World Book of Star Records and the Alternative Medicine Development Institute of India in Kolkata on Sunday in an award function. He is a national-level human rights and social activist from Assam. The award was given in recognition of his outstanding work in the fields of humanity and human rights. He was presented with a trophy, certificate, memento shawl, and bouquet of flowers as part of the award. The programme felicitated those people from different backgrounds who have achieved exceptional talent in their respective fields.

Since 1999, social worker Dr. Saikia has made history by starting work against witch superstition. He travelled among the tribes in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra to create awareness against superstitions and evils, stated a press release.
