Axam Xahitya Xabha announces schedule of 75th biennial session from January 31

GUWAHATI: The Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) announced the program schedule including the name of the awardees of the 75th biennial session of the Sualkuchi Adhiveshan of AXX which will begin on January 31 and will continue till February 4.

Addressing a press conference at AXX Bhawan on Friday, AXX president Paramanada Rajbongshi and Chief secretary Padum Rajkhowa announced the schedule details and the names of the awardees. AXX stated that the session will begin with flag hoisting followed by a cultural rally with the newly elected president of AXX Kuladhar Saikia. AXX former president Padmashree Rang Bang Terang will inaugurate the first mukoli odhibexn (Open meeting/session) where the newly elected president will formally be seated by Paramanada Rajbongshi.

Announcing the awards Padum Rajkhowa said that AXX has decided to confer ‘Young Jounalist Award’ for the first time. The award has been named after Parag Kumar Das and it will be conferred to three of the journalists Basistha Dev Phukan, Manoranjan Boiri and Tapan Kumar Bora. The Asom Keshari Ambikagiri Rai Choudhury award 2018-20 will be conferred to poet Anubhab Tulashi and Dr. Apurba Kumar Saikia. Kalaguru Bishnuprasad Rabha award will be conferred to Dr. Prayag Saikia and Nilotpal Baruah. The Sitanath Brahma Choudhury award will be conferred to Nagen Bora and Nagendra Nath Sarma.

Among other awards include- the Hema Barooah memorial award, Buduram Panging award, Uttam Chandra Barooah memorial award etc. The awards will be conferred in the Sualkuchi session of AXX.
