GUWAHATI: Prices of bakery items will increase in the city along with other areas of Lower Assam with effect from June 1.
The decision to hike the prices of bakery products was taken at a meeting of the Lower Assam Biscuit Bakery Owners' Association at Barpeta on Sunday.
As a result, the price of a 150 gm packet of bread will increase by Rs 5 and that of a 300 gm packet of bread will increase by Rs 10. Similarly, the price of bakery biscuits will increase by Rs 40 per kg. The price of cake will also increase, but the exact quantum of increase has not been announced as yet.
