GUWAHATI: On the occasion of the 56th Bank Nationalisation Day held on July 19, 2025, officers from various public sector banks gathered at the SBOA Public School campus in Gorchuk to commemorate and honour the historic day. In the presence of Principal Mrinali Chowdhary and Vice-Principal Prafulla Kumar Baruah, Comrade Alakesh Bhattacharjee, president of the AIBOC Assam State Unit, and Comrade Sanjib Sen, secretary of the AIBOC Assam State Unit, graced the occasion with their wisdom and energy.
With the spirit of pride and purpose, all officers stood side by side united as they marked this milestone with a tree plantation drive across the premises of the SBOA School campus. Each plant gently pressed into the earth was more than a tribute; it was a silent promise to nurture the ideals that once transformed banking into a tool for national uplift, equity, inclusion, and service beyond self.
Addressing the gathering, Comrade Alakesh Bhattacharjee reminded everyone of the path carved by the pioneers of nationalisation. He expressed the emotions that stirred every soul present in the moment, reminding us that in a world increasingly tilting towards privatisation, our duty is not just to reminisce about the past but to defend its legacy as well. Comrade Sanjib Sen spoke with passionate urgency, addressing the younger generation of officers to volunteer as the guardians of a sacred trust of the nation, a press release said.
