GUWAHATI: The All India Primary Teachers' Federation (AIPTF) has called for a Bharat Yatra for the restoration of the OPS (Old Pension Scheme) and the cancellation of the NPS (National Pension System), and the Assam State Primary Teachers' Association (ASPTA) has fully supported the idea.

An office-bearer of ASPTA said they have been voicing their opposition to the New Pension System since 2006. This opposition is being carried out under the guidance of the AIPTF. The AIPTF has announced that the Bharat Yatra will commence from September 5 to October 5. This yatra will be joined by every state, and it will end in Delhi. For that too, in Assam, the march will commence and end in Delhi.
