GUWAHATI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its national social media and IT media will be launching the Shankhnaad campaign across the country in August and September. Keeping the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections in mind and the potential and significance of social media in mind, the party has decided to launch this campaign to strengthen its social media machinery from state to mandal and expand on-ground social media networks.
For this campaign, the BJP divided the party into seven zones, where zone 4 includes Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The BJP has already appointed zonal organization in charge and volunteer engagement in charge. The party has appointed Shantanu Kalita as the organization in charge and Kapil Parmar as the volunteer engagement in charge.
According to state BJP sources, under the Shankhnaad campaign, there will be two major programmes: a state and district-level social media workshop and a state-level media volunteer meeting. The state and district-level social media workshops will start on August 13 in all the states. The state-level media volunteer programme will be conducted from September 10 to September 25 in Guwahati, Dibrugarh, and Silchar.
To make this campaign a success, BJP national General secretary and headquarter in charge Arun Singh has assured everyone with the guidelines how the campaign is to be conducted. The sources further added that a state toli should be appointed and that the schedules for the state and district workshops should be fixed up.
