GUWAHATI: The motorcycle belonging to Amir Ali, who has been arrested in connection with the recent murder of Purabi Dairy distributor Ranjit Bora, was recovered on Wednesday from a godown of the Agriculture Department near the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra here.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Sudhakar Singh, Amir Ali and Chintu Medhi have been arrested on the basis of circumstantial evidence.
Singh further informed that a 9mm pistol and three live cartridges were also recovered along with the motorcycle on Wednesday.
Singh said that from preliminary indications, the motive of the murder seems to have been robbery.
It may be mentioned that while the police had claimed that a Glamour bike was used to commit the crime, but the two-wheeler recovered today is an FZ one.
