Bonsai worth Rs 7 lakh on display at 7th Assam International Agri-Horti Show

Around 40 nurseries have participated in the show which is being held at the ground of the College of Veterinary Sciences, Khanapara, Guwahati.

GUWAHATI, Dec 17: The "7th Assam International Agricultural Horticulture Show-2022" which began today witnessed the participation of various nurseries from various districts of Assam and other parts of the country.

Around 40 nurseries have participated in the show which is being held at the ground of the College of Veterinary Sciences, Khanapara, Guwahati. Most of these nursery stalls have local exotic fruits and flowers, various types of indoor plants as well as medicinal plants. But one of the main attractions here is the three varieties of Bonsai which have been brought by Daffodil Nursery of Khetri for sale. The three Bonsais are priced at a whopping Rs 7 lakh, Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 2.60 lakh respectively. The other three noteworthy seedlings brought for sale by the nursery are Bougainvillea (Rs 75,000), Ficus Tapori (Rs 17,000) and Ficus Panda (Rs 12,000).

Also, a noteworthy nursery stall is Shabnam Nursery which has brought the Miyazaki mango of Japanese variety (priced at Rs. 2,000 per sapling), white jamun (priced at Rs. 500 per sapling), yellow dragonfruit and many more. Another nursery namely Ma Kamkhya of Kamrup has brought many fruits of Thai Mango, Dragon fruit, Rambutan and other exotic fruit species from Thailand whereas, Gujarat Housing Board's Tulip Agritech has brought the tissue culture of Malbhog bananas.

Similarly, Nag Champa sampling of Florica Nursery, Kalimpung orchid of West Bengal's Robin Pradhan Nursery and various other Indian/exotic vegetable seedlings such as Red Cabbage, Thailand Ginger, Chinese variety mini orange, exotic avocado, musk mellon etc. of Sri Sai Mangalam have caught the attention of the customers, a press release said.
