GUWAHATI: Trishna Sarma, has been produced before the CJM court and is remanded for seven days of police custody on Sunday. She was arrested by the Chandmari police on Saturday in connection with the cash-for-jobs which came light after Indrani Tahbildar's suicide case. According to sources, Trishna Sarma registered a case against Anurag Chaliha after the suicide case of Indrani Tahbildar, alleging that Anurag Chaliha duped her on the assurance of giving jobs.
On the other hand, the police remand for Rekhanta Das and Ashim Chakraborty has been extended for five days. Both were produced before the CJM court on Sunday after the completion of the seven-day police remand.
So far, police have gathered evidence regarding the cash-for-job scams by the accused named in the suicide case of Indrani Tahbildar.
Meanwhile, another two FIRs have been lodged in this connection. A woman has filed an FIR at Chandmari Police Station alleging that Anurag Chaliha and Diban Deka duped her on the pretext of providing jobs. The complainant has been identified as Shantana Deka who alleged that Diban and Anurag took Rs 13 lakh from her on the pretext of providing a job.
Another person identified as Hareswar Kalita also lodged a FIR alleging that he gave to Anurag through Shantana.
