GUWAHATI: For the first time the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Assam successfully conducted an online training course for field officers. 75 officials from SIs to Additional SP ranks participated from all over the State. The participants actively engaged in the interactive session and cleared many of their doubts regarding legal provisions, guidelines and investigation related aspects during COVID-19 pandemic.
The initiative was taken by ADGP (Additional Director General of Police), CID LR Bishnoi.
"The basic objective of our online training course, amongst other aims, is to ensure that the field officers keep themselves updated with the latest developments. The significance of this training hardly needs to be reiterated. However, we the cops are extremely cautious to start conventional training. Frankly speaking, it is not common in police to see the trainers and trainees online as we are used to piling police personnel in large training halls and delivering hours of lecture. COVID-19 forced us to rethink about the conventional mode of training," said Bishnoi.
