CM Sarbananda Sonowal Pays Rich Tribute To Radhakrishnan On Teachers’ Day

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said, “All sections of the society should take resolute actions for guiding the future generation of Assam. Modern Education is an important tool for the empowerment of our society. Our society needs to take the responsibility to lead our young generation as ideal citizens. In this competitive world, the teachers have to take the responsibility of helping our students to be talented, able and expert on all aspects”.

Speaking at the 58th state level celebrations of teachers’ day at Srimanta Sankaradeva International Auditorium in Sankaradeva Kalakshetra on Thursday, Chief Minister Sonowalsaid that in order to enrich the academic environment of the state, teachers will have to take the leading role. He also said that for transforming the available human resources of the state, the values of traditionality, culture and spirituality have to be ingrained in them. Referring to the contributions of linguist late Tabu Ram Taid, Sonowal said that he would remain ever important to the society for his unparallel contributions. He also urged upon the teachers to foster an enabling environment for the human resources of the state to lead the world.

As per a press release, stating that Assam is a land where sun rises earlier than most of the regions of the country, Chief Minister Sonowal said that in compliance with the law of the nature, people of the state will have to change their mindset and inculcate a work culture congenial to the development of the state. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who works day in and day out to bring about paradigm shift in the growth narratives of the country, Sonowal said that inspired by the Prime Minister’s growth mantra, people will have to work for smart teachers, smart students, smart class room and smart citizens. He also stressed on generating awareness among the students on the Prime Minister’s futuristic programmes like Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Fit India Movement, Jal Jiban Abhiyaanetc and asked the teachers to take a lead role in this respect. Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya, educationist Indrani Dutta, Principal Secretary Education Manindar Singh also spoke on the occasion. MLAs BinandaSaikia, Rituparna Baruah, Commissioner and Secretary PreetomSaikia and a host of dignitaries were present on the occasion.
