GUWAHATI: The State BJP has said that the 'corrupt Congress' has no right to criticize the BJP and the RSS.

In a statement issued to the media on Sunday, Assam State BJP spokesperson Subhash Dutta said, "It doesn't augur well for the Congress to criticize the RSS that has been on the service of Mother India since its conception. The Congress has been criticizing the RSS with an ulterior motive. The Congress leaders' political contenders are in the BJP, not in the RSS. By dragging the RSS for no rhymes or reasons, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has exposed its mental state. At the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass the Congress has lost its direction, and engaged itself in criticizing other parties.

"Every member of the BJP is in politics for nation building. This is why the party has been fighting all those who conspire against Assam and its people.

"Assam and the people of Assam are safe at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. Assam has been able to see itself in limelight in the country in the past four-and-a-half years.

"The Congress, on the contrary, has made Assam a grazing land for foreigners, and now they are out with the slogans for deportation of foreigners from the State. It was the Congress that enacted a black law like the IM(DT) Act and gave shelter to people from erstwhile East Bengal in Assam. The party posed a threat to the life of the indigenous people of Assam. That sort of activity will remain as a blot in the history of Assam.

"The Congress has no right to speak against corruption in the State. Everybody in the State knows as to how corrupt were the Congress chief ministers right from Late Hiteswar Saikia to Tarun Gogoi. ASCARD Bank scam, Social Welfare Scam on children's food, fake ration card scam, the story making STATFED bankrupt, fake job card scam, APSC cash-for-job scam are some of the corrupt practices that had taken place in the State during the Congress regime. Now the party is out to cover those scams by criticizing the BJP for no rhymes or reasons.

"The State government led by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has the avowed stand of zero tolerance against corruption, and the government will not ever deviate from this stand."
