Decision taken for special TET (Teachers Eligibility Test) in Assam

GUWAHATI: The TET (Teachers Eligibility Test) Empower Committee has decided to hold a special TET in the State.

Various associations of teachers and other employees under the SSA (SarbaSikshaAbhiyan) like education volunteers, sanyogi teachers, shikshakarmis, jyotikendra teachers have all along been demanding special TET for the regularization of their posts.

The department had a number of sittings with such teachers but has not been able to hold any TET for them.

According to SSA officials, a decision has been taken to hold a special TET for all such teachers. The meeting has also decided to advertise the holding of special TET for such teachers. The committee said that they will let the government know the decisions taken at the today's meet. The ultimate decision will be taken by the government, a few committee members said.

Officials said that around 12,000 teachers and other employees under the SSA are set to avail this special TET.
