Deori body seeks inquiry into misappropriation and siphoning of funds

GUWAHATI: The ''Deori People's Justice Forum" is concerned over the allegation about the misappropriation and siphoning of funds allocated for development of the community. These funds are allocated to the ''Deori Autonomous Council'.

The advisor of the forum, Raju Deori informed media persons in Dispur Press Club on Saturday, "In this regard, the 'Deori People's Justice Forum' registered a case (128/2021 u/s 120-B/ 468/ 409 IPC r/w Section 11/13 Prevention of Corruption Act) in Narayan police station in August. "But, the IO (Investigation Officer) pursuing this has not carried out free and fair inquiry. Already the persons mentioned in the FIR have sought bail from the Gauhati highh Court (Bail application number: AB/3769/2021). The HC has fixed the next date for hearing on January 6, 2022. "If the negligence of the IO continues then the persons may secure bail.

Hence, we demand that a probe into the charges.
