GUWAHATI, Aug 14: On the occasion of the 72nd Independence Day celebration, the president’s fire service medal for distinguished service will be conferred upon Senior Station Officer Ghanashyam Choudhury while fire service medal for meritorious service will be conferred upon Sub-Officer Dharma Kanta Gogoi and Leading Fireman Rajat Chandra Patgiri. On the other hand, home guards and civil defence medal for meritorious service will be conferred upon Subedar (HG) Amal Bhattacharya, Platoon Commander (HG) Mohan Chandra Mahanta and Constable (HG) Jitendra Muchahary, a CPRO, Assam Police communiqué said.
