Guwahati: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), Division-II, has issued a directive to ensure uniformity in the evaluation of District Level Internal Examinations across all districts. The move follows concerns regarding the non-availability of answer keys and memorandum of instruction, which has hindered the fair assessment of OMR and regular answer sheets.
In a letter addressed to inspectors of schools and principals of lead colleges, ASSEB highlighted that while the internal exams for Classes IX to XII are being conducted as per the government notification, several institutions are struggling due to the lack of standardized evaluation tools.
To address the issue, the Board announced that the district-level internal examination committees will now be responsible for supplying answer keys and memorandum of instructions for all subjects covered under the exams. This step aims to eliminate discrepancies in assessment methods and ensure consistency across districts.
Additionally, the Board stated that guidelines regarding the evaluation of OMR answer sheets for Class XI annual exams will be issued in due course of time.
