GUWAHATI: Don Bosco School, Guwahati, wore a festive look on January 10 as the Class of 2000 came together for a grand reunion, celebrating 25 years since their graduation.

The event, held at the Mama Margaret Auditorium in Panbazar, brought back a wave of nostalgia and joy for the alumni, who gathered to reconnect and relive cherished memories. With a target to ensure maximum participation, a reach-out campaign ensued to touch base with batchmates scattered across the globe through various mediums.

Organised with the enthusiastic support of the school, the reunion took place on a vibrant afternoon starting at 2:30 PM.

The agenda was packed with activities, including a meet-and-greet session, a nostalgic tour of the school, audiovisual presentations, music, photo opportunities, and a delightful dinner. Participants were presented with exclusive memorabilia to commemorate the milestone event. The august audience extended condolences and prayers to the departed souls from the student and staff fraternity.

The milestone reunion was a testament to the enduring bonds that were forged and the values instilled in the students by the guidance and mentorship of our respected teachers. On that note, the staff (teaching/non-teaching) were felicitated as a token of gratitude.

Teachers, including Mr. Promode Moral, Mr. John Karunakaran, and Mrs. Ruth Gomez, spoke fondly of the Class of 2000, calling them "one of the finest batches in the history of the school, which excelled both academically and professionally."

The alumni, too, reflected on their unique place in Assam's educational history. "We were the last batch to write board exams based on both the 9th and 10th-grade syllabi as part of the HSLC certificate. That challenge forged our resilience and unity," one alumnus shared.

The success of the reunion was a testament to the unbreakable Bosconian spirit, with the alumni expressing their deep gratitude for the school's support in organising the event.

The evening culminated in group photos and heartfelt applause, followed by a scrumptious dinner, leaving the Class of 2000 to celebrate not just their past but maintain a sense of brotherhood in the times ahead.

With around more than 100 participants who participated in person, the reunion was a true reflection of the strong bonds that remain unbroken over the years. The school encourages all alumni to stay in touch for future events and celebrations.
