Employees of Soochna Bhawan Participate in Swachhta Campaign

GUWAHATI: Taking forward the spirit of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, employees of Soochna Bhawan, Guwahati, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting conducted a cleanliness drive in its office campus at Chandmari. All officers and staff of the office took part in the initiative by performing shramdaan under the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada Campaign.

Kuldeep Singh Dhatwalia, Director General, North East Zone, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting along with the office staff, cleaned the premises of the office building and disposed off garbage, plastic waste, dry leaves, etc. Guwahati Municipal Corporation also provided the necessary support with their vehicles, equipment and staff in making the drive a success. The drive aimed to create awareness about hygiene and cleanliness among the residents of the locality and the employees, thereby to imbibe in the habit of cleanliness. The office also urged the locality not to throw garbage into the office backyard corners and join hands in keeping the locality clean.

As part of Swachhta Pakhwada celebrations during January16 to 31, 2019, media units of North East Zone under Ministry of I & B has drawn up an action plan which comprises a host of activities including Swachhta Pledge, cleanliness drives, weeding out exercise etc. The NE Zone is also planning for landscaping, beautification and development of the cleaned areas at the sides and corners of Assam Khadi and Village Industries Board campus. All employees of the offices will take part in the activities voluntarily as a contribution towards the success of Swachh Bharat Mission, stated press release.
