GUWAHATI: Five more members who were elected as Independent members of the Hailakandi Municipal Board in the recent elections, on Thursday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the party headquarters here in the presence of State unit president Bhabesh Kalita.
These members include Munna Dev, Silpi Das, Raju Chakraborty, Champa Sengupta and Suparna Das. It may be mentioned that four members of the Narayanpur Municipal Board, who were elected on Congress and Independent tickets, had also joined the BJP on March 11.
