GUWAHATI: Popular folk singer Khagen Gogoi will be honoured with the 'Pratima Barua Pandey Memorial Award' for this year. The AASU (All Assam Students Union) instituted the award. The students' union will hand over the award to Khagen Gogoi in a function on December 27. Gogoi has many hit songs to his credit.
Notably, the event is organised on the death anniversary of the iconic singer -- Pratima Barua Pandey, who popularised Goalparia lokageet globally.
