GUWAHATI: The Dispur police on Monday arrested a fraudster named Rishi Rajkhowa after he failed to either pay fare for, or return nine vehicles that he had hired from various travel agencies in the city.
According to police sources, Rajkhowa used to lease out, rent out and even sell the vehicles that he had himself rented from travel agencies, adding that only six of the nine vehicles concerned have been recovered so far.
A case (136/2023) has been registered in this connection and the court has remanded Rajkhowa to judicial custody.
