GUWAHATI: In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak in the State, the State government did decide to give one kg masur dal (red dal) per family per month to all National Food Security Act (NFSA) card holders in the State, free of cost. The scheme has been started from Morigaon district, said Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Phani Bhushan Chuhdury on Saturday. Choudhury said that the scheme would cover the entire State. At present around 58 lakh families have been covered under the NFSA in the State.
