Gauhati High Court fines Anand Kumar for non-appearance

GUWAHATI: Gauhati High Court directed Anand Kumar to be personally present before High Court on November 28, 2019 and further directed to compensate by giving cost of Rs 10,000 each, with total amounting to Rs 50,000 to the guardians and students who have been cheated by him.

Division Bench of Gauhati High Court comprising Chief Justice Ajai Lamba and Justice A M Bujarbaruah, displeased with the non compliance of directing Anand Kumar to be personally present before the High Court on November 26. Further, the Court directed to compensate by giving cost of Rs 10,000 each, total amounting to Rs 50,000 to the guardians and student present today in the Court who have been cheated by Kumar in the name of Super 30.

Amit Goyal, Advocate for the Petitioners told that Kumar against whom PIL is filed before High Court in its reply filed before High Court has not replied to the allegations of the IIT’s students as directed by the High Court whereas IPS Abhiyanand filed before High Court alleging that Anand Kumar had deficiencies in his mathematical thought process.
