Graduation ceremony of Army Institute of Nursing observed in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Lamp Lighting ceremony of batch 2018 and Graduation ceremony of batch 2014 of Army Institute of Nursing (AIN), Guwahati was held on Monday at Brahmaputra Hall of Narangi Cantonment. Major General Arun Kumar, GOC 51 Sub Area was the Chief Guest and Rathindra Bhuyan, Director of Health Services, Family Planning and Education, Assam as Guest of Honour and other Senior Officers from the Army, Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences and Guwahati Medical College and Hospital, were also in attendance. AIN was established in August 2006 as a Professional College under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society for female wards of Army personnel and civilians hailing from North East to meet the growing demand for professionally qualified nurses

Lieutenant Colonel M Jayalakshmi (Retd), Principal in her annual report said that the Institute once again had 100% placement of the graduates in prestigious hospitals of New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Guwahati during the campus recruitment, which is indicative of the high standards of training and professionalism of this Institution.

The highlights of the Lamp Lighting ceremony was the induction of the fresher’s batch into the Nursing profession and administration of Nurses Pledge. The graduation ceremony marked the distribution of the academic excellence awards. Nidhi Singh received the Chief of Army Staff “All Round Best Students” award and Deepa Gurung received the GOC 101 Rolling Trophy for the Best Student in the Clinical Field. Preeti Naik, Nidhi Singh and Deepa Gurung received the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal for standing first, second and third position in the batch respectively. Guest of Honor, Rathindra Bhuyan addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to excel in their future endeavor. The student representative of the graduating batch, in her speech, conveyed a heartfelt gratitude towards the faculty and management of the institute. The program concluded with the national anthem, said a press release.
