GUWAHATI: Continuing its tradition, the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) organized its annual felicitation ceremony to honour meritorious students who excelled in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary (HS) examinations. A total of 106 students were felicitated, including 38 HSLC and 68 HS candidates. In addition, two candidates who successfully cleared the prestigious UPSC examination were also honoured.

The event was held at the Pragjyotish ITA Cultural Centre, where AASU leaders motivated the students to strive for excellence and work towards a brighter future. The ceremony was graced by eminent educationists, including Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Vice-Chancellor of Gauhati University, who attended as the chief guest, and Prof. Jiten Hazarika, Vice-Chancellor of Dibrugarh University.

Both vice-chancellors addressed the gathering and emphasized the need for students to gain a deeper understanding of society. They described bureaucrats as the pillars of society and urged students to use their potential to bring about positive change.

AASU Chief Advisor Dr. Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharyya also spoke on the occasion. He stressed that no talented student should have to abandon their education due to financial constraints. “AASU stands by every meritorious student as a ‘Sarathi’—proverbial person who drive a chariot, to support and lead them towards success,” he said.
