Guwahati: Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya along with the First Lady of Assam Kumud Devi on Thursday paid a visit to Kamakhya Temple on ‘nivritti’ and paid obeisance to Goddess Kamakhya and sought her blessings for the development of all sections of the people of Assam.
Visiting the Shakti Shrine at the decent of ‘Nivritti’ which marks the culmination of the of the five day Ambubachi Mela, one of the greatest spiritual gatherings of the country, Acharya this morning offered his puja at the Shakti Peeth for the welfare of the people of Assam. He also thanked lakhs of devotees from the country and abroad who had flocked at the famous Shakti Shrine for making the Ambubachi Mela a grand success.
Governor Acharya also hailed the efforts of the Temple Management Committee, civil and police administration, volunteers of different agencies for putting up their best efforts in making this year’s Ambubachi a grand success. He also hailed them for their efforts in maintaining the highest order of harmony, tranquility and peaceful coexistence where pilgrims from different regions of the country and abroad have converged to meditate and realize the essence of Ambubachi festival, stated a press release.
