Guwahati: Awareness drive against alcohol and drugs organized in city

GUWAHATI: A significant awareness programme against drugs and alcohol was organized by Indrajit Singha, a dedicated anti-drugs activist, at GMC Ward No-7, Pandu, Guwahati on March 2, 2025. The event aimed to educate the community about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promote a drug-free lifestyle. 

The programme was graced by the presence of Anukul Malakar, Assistant Commissioner of Police (West), and Jitu Borgohain, Vice Chairman of the Assam Anti-Drugs Prohibition Council, among other dignitaries.

This initiative follows another successful awareness programme led by Indrajit Singha on February 16, 2025 at GMC Ward No-3, which witnessed overwhelming public participation. Singha has been actively organizing similar campaigns in Pandu and Maligaon localities, including door-to-door visits, to spread awareness and encourage community involvement in the fight against substance abuse, stated a press release.
