GUWAHATI: As part of the organisation phase, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Assam Pradesh has started preparations to form mandal committees by February 7 and full-fledged district committees by February 14.
The newly elected state president of the BJP, MP Dilip Saikia, has already appointed 10 senior leaders from the state as observers for the formation of the district committees.
In a statement today, BJP spokesperson Subhash Dutta mentioned that for the formation of strong district committees in Assam by February 14, the following leaders have been entrusted with responsibilities: Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass for the districts of Dhubri, Bongaigaon, Goalpara, Dakshin Salmara-Manakachar; Minister Prashant Phukan for the districts of Tinisukia, Sivasagar, Charaideu and Guwahati Metropolitan; Minister Piyush Hazarika for the districts of Sonitpur, Biswanath, Udalguri and Tamulpur; Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah for the districts of Barpeta, Kokrajhar, Baksa and Chirang; Minister Jogen Mohan for the districts of Jorhat, Kaliabor, South Kamrup and North Kamrup; Minister Kaushik Rai for the districts of Hailakandi, Sriboomi, and Dima Hasao; former state BJP president Bhavesh Kalita for the districts of Morigaon, Nagaon, Hojai and Bilasipara; general secretary Pulok Gohain for the districts of Dibrugarh, Dhemaji, Dhekuwakhana, and Majuli; Dipluranjan Sharma for the districts of Golaghat, East Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, and Cachar; and Pallav Lochan Das for the districts of Darrang, Nalbari, Bajali, Lakshmipur.
These leaders will oversee the formation of the full-fledged district committees of the Bharatiya Janata Party by the party’s constitution.
