GUWAHATI: In honour of World Health Day on Monday, the Frontier Headquarters of the Border Security Force (BSF) at Patgaon, Guwahati, hosted an engaging session for BSF families, organized by Composite Hospital, Patgaon, Guwahati, under BSF Wives Welfare Association (BWWA). The event aimed to raise awareness on the importance of a healthy lifestyle and tackling lifestyle diseases. Vandana Gaur, the head of BWWA, Guwahati Frontier, inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp in the presence of all BWWA members.

Senior BSF officials participated in the event, emphasizing the critical role of health in ensuring the well-being of both personnel and their families. A renowned health expert led an interactive lecture session on preventing common lifestyle diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity. The aspects such as the vital link between diet, physical activity, and mental health were also stressed upon.

The session encouraged open discussions, with attendees receiving personalized advice on adopting healthier habits. The sharing of practical tips on balanced nutrition, exercise, and mental wellness empowered participants to prioritize their health. The event concluded with a call to action for BSF families to embrace a healthier lifestyle for long-term wellness, stated a press release.
