Guwahati City claps for people engaged in fight against Coronavirus

GUWAHATI: The city wore a deserted look on Sunday as the residents responded to the Janata Curfew appealed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, at 5 pm, people from different parts of the city started clapping their hands to express their gratitude towards the people who are engaged in emergency services amidst the global pandemic COVID-19.

While, some clapped their hands and clanged dishes, others played Shankha (a Conch Shell), Doba (a drum), and Tal (an instrument made up of metal) to pay their respect. The administrative officials too co-operated with the nationwide activity by playing the police siren. Most of the people said that it is a sign of gratitude who are serving the public during this outbreak and that it is the need of hour to be concerned and careful.
