GUWAHATI: Guwahati is getting a makeover to receive big delegations from the country and abroad, including industrial leaders, besides Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet colleagues, who will chair different sessions at the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit. The two-day summit will be on February 25 and 26, 2025.
Along with Advantage Assam, the ‘Jhumur Binandini’ is also going to be a crowd puller to the city. The Prime Minister will grace the occasion as the chief guest on February 24, a day before the opening of Advantage Assam 2.0.
According to PWD sources, under the SOPD (State Owned Priority Development), they have are busy in giving the GS Road and other main roads in Guwahati a facelift. They have been whitewashing the roadside railings, railings on either side of dividers, cleaning the flyovers, besides eliminating them. They are making all arrangements for putting up flowerpots in stretches of roads where there are no floral growths on road dividers. At some stretches, the roads in Guwahati have the growth floral plants and other greenery. This makeover is underway right from Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport to Veterinary Playground at Khanapara.
The security arrangements have also been being tightened with the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit drawing closer.
