Guwahati: The Coconut Development Board, regional office, Guwahati, organized the Export Promotion Meet at the Assam Administrative College, Khanapara to create awareness on coconut processing, value addition and export opportunities. The event brought together prominent manufacturers specialising in virgin coconut oil, packaged tender coconut water, desiccated coconut powder, coconut ice cream, and other value-added coconut products from Kerala.

Additionally, representatives from FPCs, entrepreneurs, and business stakeholders participated to explore the manufacturing and marketing possibilities of coconut-based products in Northeast India. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Rajat Kumar Pal, Director, CDB, R.O., Guwahati, followed by the lighting of the lamp and felicitation ceremony. Ms. Mridula K., CDB, Kochi, delivered the introductory remarks, setting the stage for insightful discussions. Notable guest speakers included Nripen Das, Director, Directorate of Horticulture & Food Processing, Assam and Dr. H.C. Bhattacharyya, Scientific Consultant, ICAR-ATARI, ZONE-VI. The keynote address was delivered by Loken Das, Chief General Manager, NABARD, Assam Regional Office, who highlighted the significance of adopting sustainability. The technical session followed by the inaugural session provided in-depth discussions on various aspects of coconut exports.
