Guwahati: Taking a cue from the AICC, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) organized the “Jai Hind Yatra” on the Rajiv Bhawan premises today to express solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces in the wake of the attack by Pakistan.
The Congress on Friday held nationwide rallies as part of the ‘Jai Hind Yatra’ to foster unity and demonstrate support for India’s defence efforts. The party called upon the public to stand firmly behind the government and the armed forces, commending their cross-border retaliation against Pakistan in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
Participating in the event, APCC president Bhupen Kumar Borah said, “We stand firmly with the Central Government and the Indian Armed Forces during this crucial period of national security concerns. We are proud of our armed forces. Their bravery has made it clear that any nation thinking of attacking India will now think twice.”
“India’s strong stance against terrorism has drawn global attention. It is time the country delivered a decisive blow to those who sponsor such violence. We have lost many lives to terrorism, and we must now deal a death blow to terrorism and its perpetrators,” he added.
Borah further said, “This is no time for patience or tolerance. We stand resolutely with the Indian Army. If needed, we are ready to join our brave soldiers on the battlefield.”
He concluded by emphasizing the need for national unity. “Now is the time to stand united for the nation. Organizational priorities can wait, but the honour of the nation cannot,” he said.
The Yatra was led by Bhupen Borah, accompanied by several party members and supporters.
