Guwahati: A team from Basistha Police Station intercepted a Maruti Suzuki S-Cross (AS-01-BX-6637) at Koinadhara while it was en route from Cachar.
During inspection, the team recovered 244 packets of foreign ESSE Special Gold Cigarettes (Super Slim)—manufactured under the authority of KT&G, Korea—being transported without any valid documentation. Police apprehended three individuals, all hailing from the Cachar district are Afjal Hussain Laskar (28), Bahar Uddin Barbhuiya (35), and Raju Mia Borbhuiya (36). The vehicle along with the contraband has been seized, and legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused.
