Guwahati: Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) commissioner Dr. M S Lakshmi Priya, conducted an early morning inspection of cleanliness drives across various wards under Division 6 on Thursday, reinforcing the corporation’s commitment to sanitation and community participation.

Joined by Ward No. 24 councillor Biju Medhi, Ward No. 10 councillor Kalpana Das, and senior GMC officials, the commissioner reviewed cleaning operations, interacted with Safai Mitras, and engaged with residents to address civic and sanitation-related concerns.

Dr. Lakshmi Priya appreciated the efforts of sanitation workers and commended citizens who have adopted eco-friendly waste management practices, such as segregation and home composting. She emphasized that active public participation is key to achieving the vision of a cleaner Guwahati.

GMC officials reiterated their focus on sustainable sanitation, community engagement, and regular monitoring. More such review visits are planned as part of the city’s ongoing cleanliness reinforcement campaign.
