Guwahati: In a series of anti-narcotics and illegal liquor operations, multiple police teams carried out successful raids across the city, leading to several seizures and arrests.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a WGPD team attached to Maligaon Outpost raided the residence of Makani Patowary (48) at Adingiri Hills, Durgasarovar. During the operation, police recovered 25 bottles of beer and 9 packs of illicit liquor from her possession. Legal action has been initiated against her.
In a separate operation, a WGPD team from Jalukbari Outpost raided the shop of Suratjan Begum in Garigaon Mallahpara. The team seized 8 vials of heroin weighing 10.20 grams, 13.18 grams of ganja, and Rs 380 in cash. Police have taken legal steps against the accused.
Meanwhile, a CGPD team from Panbazar Police Station carried out a raid at a hideout located in Ushamati (3 No Rail Gate). During the operation, one woman was arrested with 50 vials of heroin weighing 65.99 grams. A sum of Rs 2,080 was also recovered from the scene. Legal proceedings have been initiated.
Additionally, another WGPD team from Jalukbari Police Station raided a hideout at Sadilapur in Pandu and apprehended Pranjal Das (30) of Khanamukh. Police seized 10 vials of heroin weighing 10.38 grams from his possession. Legal action has also been taken in this case.
