GUWAHATI: The iron shuttering of the Maligaon bridge in Guwahati fell, posing a serious hazard to the people on the road below. According to reports, the incident injured two people. In front of Pragjyotish Cinema Hall, the event occurred.
Additionally, the event resulted in damage to a vehicle. The injured were taken right away to a hospital in the meantime.
The tragedy has sparked a discussion regarding the negligence surrounding and the status of development projects.
Recently, a minor fire started at the flyover in Maligaon that was still being built. According to reports, the fire started when welding was being done, which led to a tarpaulin sheet used in the construction catching fire.
Traffic was completely stopped for a short while as a result of the occurrence, even though nothing except the tarpaulin sheet was hurt in the fire. The traffic problems that the residents of the Maligaon neighbourhood were already experiencing as a result of the construction project were made worse by this incident.
A second water pipeline ruptured a few weeks ago on a Monday near Maligaon Flyover, Guwahati, Assam. The flyover close to the Jalukbari Police Station was still being constructed, and according to accounts, a significant volume of water poured into the road underneath. Locals in Maligaon are concerned about the water line leak incident because the area already has traffic problems.
The victims of the catastrophe in Kharghuli have questioned the government's sincerity in its intentions to rebuild their homes, and some families who were affected by it are still residing in the relief camp set up by the district administration.
The flyover being built in the Maligaon, Guwahati will be unveiled to the public before the Durga Puja celebration later this year, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma declared on Monday. CM Sarma updated followers on the project's status on Twitter and emphasised the importance of the Maligaon flyover in reducing Guwahati's traffic congestion.
