Guwahati: Kamrup (M) has secured the second position in the “Clean & Transparent” category of Gunotsav-2025, a statewide education assessment initiative. The results were announced at a grand ceremony held at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati, attended by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu, and other dignitaries.
The award was presented by the Chief Minister to Additional District Commissioner (Education) Casio Karan Pegu and Inspector of Schools Dipika Chaudhury, recognizing the district’s commitment to transparency and cleanliness. During the event, Dr Sarma announced the results of Gunotsav-2025, highlighting that 11,594 schools across Assam secured an A+ grade in the 2024 Gunotsav assessment. The occasion also marked the distribution of tablets to 4,320 students (mentees) from Class X, 2024-25 academic year, under the Arohan Scheme, which aimed to support their academic progress and career development. These students will be trained in using the devices to access digital learning resources such as the DIKSHA portal, Khan Academy, and e-Kaksha e-content.
Currently, 12,929 mentees (Classes IX-XI) and 11,701 mentors are registered on the Arohan portal, where mentors provide academic and career guidance through home visits, school interactions, and virtual support. Additionally, Rs 1,000 book grants were awarded to 17,253 mentees of Classes IX and X to support their education.
Since its launch in 2022-23, the Arohan Scheme has benefitted students from government, Provincialized, Adarsha Vidyalayas, tea garden model schools, and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) through academic and life skill mentoring, career guidance, exposure to higher education institutions, book grants and tablets, and a four-day exposure visit to premier institutions, benefiting 7,030 students in the last three years.
Additionally, Samagra Shiksha, Assam, received an ISO 9001:2015 certification from QCi, acknowledging its adherence to quality management standards. The certification highlights key improvements, such as increased efficiency through resource optimization and waste reduction, enhanced service quality in educational administration, greater transparency via data-driven decision-making, and improved stakeholder satisfaction by adopting global best practices.
