GUWAHATI: A landslide occurred early Tuesday morning in the Maligaon hilltop Colony area of Guwahati following incessant overnight rainfall, leaving residents stranded as the main road was blocked. The incident, which unfolded before dawn, did not result in any major property damage or human casualties, residents confirmed. Speaking to the media, a local resident said, “A landslide occurred early in the morning, blocking the road. Now we are unable to go down. However, there has been no major damage to property or human casualty.” The landslide has caused considerable inconvenience to the residents, cutting off access to and from the colony. When contacted, an official from the Jalukbari Police Station stated, “The area is heavily prone to landslides. It has been raining since last night, so a landslide may have occurred. We have received no such information yet.
