GUWAHATI: The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) in Guwahati has issued a travel advisory in anticipation of a surge in passenger traffic during this weekend. Despite the airport remaining fully operational, heightened security protocols have been implemented, which may result in longer wait times at check-in and security checkpoints.

To ensure a smooth travel experience, passengers are advised to arrive at the airport well in advance of their scheduled departure time, cooperate fully with security and airport personnel, and stay updated through official sources. It’s also recommended to follow Guwahati Airport’s official social media channels for live updates and contact respective airlines directly for flight-specific queries.

Passengers are reminded to adhere to restrictions on carrying liquids, aerosols, and gels (LAGs) and to avoid prohibited items such as camphor, e-cigarettes, fireworks, spray paints, and devices with non-removable lithium batteries. Travellers are encouraged to check with their airlines before arriving at the airport to avoid any issues.

In a statement, an airport spokesperson said, “Due to enhanced security protocols, travellers may experience longer wait times. We urge everyone to reach out to their respective airlines and stay updated through official sources.”
