Guwahati: The Lions Club of Guwahati Metropolitan laid the foundation stone for a clean drinking water project at Bishnu Jyoti Sangha, located within the premises of Guwahati Xahitya Xabha in Paltan Bazar.

Launched under the motto “Water is Life,” the initiative underscores the club’s commitment to community service and sustainable urban development. The project is being implemented in collaboration with local stakeholders and with support from the public, aiming to provide purified drinking water to both residents and visitors in the area.

The foundation-laying ceremony witnessed the presence of several key office-bearers of the Lions Club, including president Sunil Kataria, secretary Shubham Agarwala, and project director Vinod Kumar Lohia. Representatives from Bishnu Jyoti Sangha, along with notable community members, were also in attendance.

Speaking at the event, the club’s leadership reaffirmed their dedication to initiating more public welfare projects across the city. Community leaders and local residents lauded the move, terming it a timely and much-needed intervention to address a basic civic necessity.
