GUWAHATI: Sanjiv Nath, a resident of Morigaon, passed away on Thursday at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) due to alleged torture by his friends, Prahlad Nath and Ananda Das. The Paltan Bazar police have arrested the two accused in connection with Nath’s death.
According to allegations, Nath was promised a job on January 17, 2025, and was placed in a security company. However, he was allegedly beaten up by a group of people on January 19, 2025 in the Bilpar in the Paltan Bazar area. Nath called his parents for help, and they visited the Paltan Bazar police station to report the incident. Unfortunately, the police were unable to locate Nath at that time.
It was only later that Nath’s family discovered that he had been admitted to GMCH, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries. The Paltan Bazar police have registered a case (27/2025) in connection with Nath’s death and have arrested the two accused. Further investigation is on.
