Guwahati: Meet held on Polluting Industries in Byrnihat, Sonapur

GUWAHATI: The Kamrup Metropolitan district administration has taken serious steps regarding the industries in Byrnihat, Sonapur, which has been ranked among the most polluted areas.

A meeting was held today at the Dimoria Sub-Divisional Commissioner's office to address pollution levels and ensure compliance with environmental regulations by the industries operating in the Assam part of Byrnihat, near the Assam-Meghalaya border. During the meeting, the Dimoria Sub-Divisional Commissioner instructed industry representatives to strictly adhere to pollution control regulations. The industries were also directed to follow the guidelines set by the Pollution Control Board to help reduce pollution levels in the area. The administration warned that strict action would be taken against any industry failing to comply with these regulations. The meeting was attended by representatives from 40 industries in the region, along with officials from the Pollution Control Board.
