GUWAHATI: A special meeting was convened in Guwahati on Friday, bringing together representatives from private diagnostic centres and nursing homes in Kamrup Metro to discuss the ongoing “100 Days Intensified TB Elimination Campaign.” The meeting, chaired by District Commissioner Sumit Sattawan, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to eradicate tuberculosis.

Sattawan urged private healthcare stakeholders to actively contribute to the initiative, stating, “We aim to make the state TB-free through united efforts. I urge all members to participate in this noble initiative and ensure its success.”

The campaign, part of a nationwide effort to eliminate TB, focuses on intensified detection, treatment, and awareness.

The active involvement of private diagnostic centres and nursing homes is expected to bolster the campaign’s outreach and impact in the region. Health officials reaffirmed their commitment to the cause and expressed optimism about achieving significant progress through collective action. The 100-Day TB Elimination Campaign is a critical component of India’s strategy to eliminate TB by 2025, five years ahead of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) deadline. The campaign aims to accelerate the fight against TB by improving case detection, reducing diagnostic delays, and enhancing treatment outcomes, particularly for vulnerable populations.
