GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation conducted an eviction drive at Paltan Bazar, Bhangagarh and Ganeshguri area, on Monday. The veterinary branch of the GMC inspected a total of 137 poultry shops and evicted 21 shops from Ganeshguri, 10 from Bhangagarh and one from Ulubari.
A total fine of Rs. 15,500 was imposed on the evicted shops.
Meanwhile, the health branch inspected 44 hotels, fast foods, hotels and lodges. A total of 11,000 fine was collected from 22 shops at Paltan Bazar, Rs. 6,000 from 12 shops at Bhangagarh and Rs. 5,500 from 10 shops in Ganeshguri.
