GUWAHATI: The first of the 13 accused arrested in the GMC (Guwahati Municipal Corporation) de-siltation scam, accountant Abhimanyu Medhi, got bail today. The Gauhati High Court granted him bail today. The sleuths of the Chief Minister's Special Vigilance Cell made the arrest.
The Chief Minister's Special Vigilance Cell issued a wanted notice against Mithu Agarwal (39), who is evading arrest in the de-siltation scam under the GMC, yesterday. The notice, which contains a photo of Agarwal and details about his physical appearance, reads: "The above-mentioned accused person has been absconding/evading police investigation, interrogation and apprehension since the date of registration of the case vide case No 04/2022 U/S 120(B)/420/406/409/468/471 IPC, R/W Sections 13(1) (a)/13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988."
