GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation sealed the Maa Kali Hotel in Paltan Bazaar on Thursday.
According to sources, an inspection was carried out by the officials of the health branch of GMC on Wednesday. The inspection was carried out on the basis of the hygiene level of the hotel. The inspection revealed that the hotel violated basic hygiene standards, like improper storage of prepared food or an improper place for washing utensils, etc.
The authorities have asked the hotel to submit documents like the identity card of the trade owner, a fire NOC, a garbage agreement with the concerned NGO regarding solid waste management, etc., within seven days. Failure to do so shall be initiated as per the provisions of the GMC Act, 1971.
This case unfolded after a customer found a dead lizard on his plate. And later, the man filed a complaint.
