Ranjeet Dass holds a meeting with hoteliers

GUWAHATI: Around 14,000 potential investors registered their names for participation in the Advantage Assam 2.0 till this noon.
Addressing the media today, Industries and Commerce Minister Bimal Borah said, "With the participation of Germany, the summit will have seven partner countries. They are Bhutan, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia. Their engagement will enhance global partnerships and drive economic growth."
The minister said, "As many as 450 B2B (business to business) and B2G (business to government) meetings have already been scheduled for participation from the seven partner countries. With tailored matchmaking and sector-specified discussions, businesses can unlock new markets and strategic alliances. This initiative aims to accelerate economic growth, innovations, and industrial expansion in Assam." The minister said, "With affirmation from the chief minister, we have already asked the nodal heads of all departments and district commissioners to contract with investors who can invest as low as Rs 5 lakh and allow them to sign MoUs at the district level as well."
The minister said that though the main two days of the summit-February 25 and 26-are meant for the registered participants, the exhibition of the summit will remain open for February 27, 28, and March 1 for the public.
Meanwhile, Tourism Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass had a meeting with the directors, managers, and other officials of hotels, including five-star ones, at the ATDC conference hall here. He urged them to offer hospitality to all guests and investors, including those from abroad, by keeping in mind the adage-Atithi Devo Bhava (the guest is god)-so that when they leave Guwahati, the hospitality they get remains imprinted in their minds. The minister urged the hoteliers to keep in mind that they are inseparable stakeholders of the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit. He urged them to make their officials and other workers work during the summit wholeheartedly.
Dass said that the tourism department has already made all pamphlets, booklets, and videos meant to bring awareness to the tourism potential of the state available at the hotels.
The hoteliers made the minister known for their readiness for the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit.
The directors, managing directors, managers, and assistant managers of 37 hotels in Guwahati took part in the meeting.
